The excitement for my trip to Blade Show is so incredibly real right now… and at the exact same time my paranoia is rising just as fast. Why? Because of the amount of flights I need to catch in order to get there and the impressive list of things that could go wrong along the way, most of which are completely out of my hands. Delays, missed connections, luggage doing its own sightseeing tour somewhere across the Atlantic… you name it. My trip begins tomorrow. Wish me luck. With that being said, who is going? I heard @notoriousedc is bringing some great stuff that is definitely worth stopping by and checking out. Booth 217, stop by and say hello. I cannot wait to finally hang out, shake some hands and chat with many of you in person. Some days a product photo feels too clean. . I had the RMX by @worksharpknives on the table, dialed in the light, took the first shot and immediately stopped (3rd image). Technically fine. Sharp. Balanced. But still felt wrong. Something was missing and I had no clue what exactly it was. . So I decided to step away from what I was doing and carried it downstairs and finally dealt with the pile of cardboard that had been sitting there for weeks. All those boxes got a proper session. . When I came back up and looked at the blade again, it made sense. Subtle marks and that slight change in surface that only comes from actual use. Same knife, different story. .
